Number 8 is our residential care home for 16 people and is suitable for people who are looking for a period of rehabilitation so that they can move onto semi-independent or independent living.
Most people who have come here have usually been recently discharged from hospital. Referrals and funding comes from Social Services.
|
Culverdale is our semi-independent supported accommodation for 22 people and is suitable for people who are basically self-caring (i.e. can monitor their own medication and cook for themselves) but need occasional support. We have staff on duty during the weekdays and an emergency pager cover for the evenings and weekends. Slightly less than half of applicants are people who have moved on from Number 8 (which is opposite) with the remainder referred by Social Services. Funding is by Housing Benefit and KCC Supporting People for those who are eligible.

Bethel Court was completed in October 2007 and forms our third-stage independent accommodation with 6 self-contained flats. It’s designed for people who are virtually independent but with the reassurance of an emergency pager system if there is a major crisis. The project worker visits approximately once a week.
Each flat is now occupied by people who have moved on from Culverdale and prior to that, were living in our care home.
